Alnwick Dental Practice
The Georgian three storey property on the main street of Alnwick, Northumberland, that currently houses the Alnwick Dental Practice has been home to a dental practice on the same site for the past 100 years.
In the summer of 2024, with a need to modernise to provide the best possible dental service to clients, Brims Construction were contracted to deliver a full interior refurbishment including a brand-new reception area, a suite of treatment rooms, staff room and male and female locker rooms, while remaining considerate of the building’s historic features, and making compromises to accommodate items such as the original single paned sash windows that overlook the main street below.

Brief
With considerable experience of cleaning historic, delicate and specialist materials, the brief for the Cklip team encompassed both the scrupulous cleaning of patient rooms treatment rooms and public areas, alongside the careful removal of plaster, dust and building material residue from the fragile wooden window frames and glass.
Analysis: Site Visit
In assessing the site, Cklip’s project manager gave special consideration to the historic features, allotting a larger than usual time frame for the internal window cleaning, ensuring it could be completed with the appropriate level of care.
Implementation: Works Carried Out
With the project nearing its deadline, a variety of trades were still operating onsite, and furniture and specialist dentistry equipment was being delivered and installed. A large reception desk was also under construction in the main reception area, meaning almost all areas on the cleaning schedule were being worked in.
Review: Hand Over
Following completion of the project we were happy to accommodate one additional request from the site manager, sending a team member to revisit the site on the day prior to handover, ensuring it was pristine and immaculately presented to the client.
