NorthStandard is a P&I club serving the maritime industry with offices located globally, including a regional office in the premier location of Newcastle’s quayside. In the summer of 2024, the North Standard building underwent significant renovation, including an update to the office suites and the inclusion of a new gym, café bar area, meeting rooms and lounge bar overlooking the river.

Assignment: Builders & sparkle clean
Brief
Cklip were contracted by Brims to deliver extensive Builders and Sparkle cleaning throughout the building in two phases, starting in the office suites and concluding at a later stage of the refurbishment, with the ground floor reception and bar area.
Analysis: Site Visit
As the cleaning on this refurbishment was to be delivered in phases, our project manager stayed in close communication with the site manager regarding the timeline for completion and the progress of ongoing work, diligently re-visiting the site to ensure the Cklip team would be ready and resourced appropriately for each phase when ready.
Implementation: Works Carried Out
Initially a small team worked to deliver meticulous cleaning to the office suites, including all interior glazing, and newly installed and tiled male and female toilets. As a small number of North Standard staff were still working onsite, our team performed their duties in a considerate and discreet manner, limiting disturbance and noise for those at work.
A larger team was deployed later in the month to carry out Builders’ and Sparkle Cleans on the final phase of the refurbishment, including the ground floor lobby bar and reception and second floor luxury lounge bar.
Review: Hand Over
Despite some unforeseen stalls to the refurbishments progress our project manager worked closely with Brims site manager to overcome challenges and ensure that all cleaning tasks were carried out efficiently without compromising on quality.
The outstanding work of the team, who left the building in immaculate condition and ready for full occupancy, was acknowledged with thanks by Brims onsite management team.
