Unite Students, the UK’s largest student accommodation provider, partnered with Durham University to enhance its Rushford Court property. The project included constructing a two-storey amenity building featuring a junior common room with a café, bar, social area, reception, and study space, all seamlessly integrated into the site’s natural slope.

Brief
Due to the high specification and premium materials used throughout the junior common room -including the café, bar, social space, reception, and study areas – the brief entailed meticulous cleaning and attention to detail, ensuring the exacting standards required for such a high-profile space were met and the amenity hub was left in pristine condition, flawlessly finished and ready for handover to the client.
Analysis: Site Visit
Our Project Manager met with the Site Manager to create a tailored cleaning schedule, ensuring the final clean would be completed on time despite other trades still working on-site, and took time to understand the materials and design features included in the interior fit out.
Implementation: Works Carried Out
For this project, a small yet highly experienced team was deployed, selected for their ability to work efficiently and proactively alongside tradespeople working under tight deadlines. While a specialist team handled the exterior window cleaning, the remaining crew methodically tackled the interior, paying close attention to detail.
The team completed the final clean on schedule and to the high standard expected, however as the entire project was nearing completion the client requested two additional days to carry out a detailed sparkle clean, to ensure the property had an immaculate ‘photo ready’ finish for handover.
